Thunder women's basketball team takes its sixth straight in an 83-59 win at Millikin

- The Wheaton College women's basketball team picked up its sixth consecutive victory on Saturday with an 83-59 victory at Millikin University (8-14/3-9 CCIW). Wheaton is now 19-3 on the year, with a 10-2 record in conference play. The Thunder will travel to Robert Morris University (Ill.) on Tuesday night for a non-conference matchup.

Thunder freshman Hannah Considine led Wheaton with 26 points in today's win, posting her second-highest point total of her debut season. Senior Brooke Olson scored 11 points, with 15 rebounds and four assists. Senior Breanna Bohlen scored 10 points, with six assists and sophomore Lauren Graham (PICTURED LEFT) contributed 10 points, with four assists. Junior Maris Hovee grabbed 10 rebounds in a strong Wheaton effort on the glass and Considine added six rebounds.

Wheaton shot 48.3% (29-60) from the field, with 41.2% (7-17) from three-point range and 85.7% (18-21) at the free throw line. Millikin posted a 31.8% (21-66) field goal percentage, with 29.4% (5-17) from behind the three-point arc and 54.5% (12-22) at the free throw line. Wheaton owned a dominating 51-33 advantage in rebounding, with an 11-10 advantage on the offensive glass.

Nikki Tipsword led the Big Blue with 16 points. Bria Williams and Jasmine Johnson each contributed 13 points, while Brittany Czaplicki added 11 points for the hosts.

The first ten and a half minutes of today's game were closely contested, as Millikin led 19-18 with 9:30 remaining before the halftime intermission. However, it would be the hosts' final lead of the game as a pair of free throws by Olson sparked a string of 13 unanswered points for Wheaton to give the Thunder a 31-19 lead with 4:25 left in the first half. The strong run helped push the Thunder to a 39-26 lead at halftime.

Wheaton held a double-digit lead for all of the second half, with the lead bulging to as much as 26 points on two different occasions.
