In game one, Wheaton grabbed the upper hand in the second inning.

Both pitchers threw zeros up on the scoreboard all the way until the bottom of the seventh inning. Elmhurst started the frame by stroking a double and tied the game with an RBI single with one out. The game-winning walkoff double came with two runners on and two outs to send the Bluejays to the 2-1 victory.

Danielle Schmidt (PICTURED RIGHT).
The Thunder extended its lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the fifth. The first two runners of the inning reached base and were driven in by
Suzanne Teuben's two-run single. However, Elmhurst made things interesting in the sixth inning by scoring a pair of their own. The Bluejays strung together three-straight hits with two outs to cut the deficit to 3-2.
Wheaton gave itself some breathing room with two runs in its half of the sixth.
Megan Chrans came through with the two-run double that ended up being the game's final scores.
Schmidt ran her record to 12-8 in the pitching circle, with eight hits, two runs, three walks and one strikeout. The Thunder backed her offensively with nine hits and one error committed. Schmidt helped her own cause with a 2-for-3 day at the plate with an RBI. Chrans was 2-for-4 with two RBI while Teuben was 1-for-3 with two runs knocked in.
The Thunder wrap up their conference schedule by hosting Illinois Wesleyan University for a 1 PM doubeleheader on Saturday.
