Elmhurst, Ill. - The Thunder wrestling team competed in a dual match at defending CCIW Champion Elmhurst College on Tuesday night. The Bluejays, ranked fourth in this week's National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA)
Division III rankings, topped the Thunder 29-12.
Wheaton earned three victories at Elmhurst on Tuesday. Junior
Mitch Steed defeated Daniel Threlkeld via a fall at the 4:05 mark of their match in the 184-pound weight class. Sophomore
Dan Olsen earned a 14-8 decision against Mike Benefiel at 197-pounds. Sophomore
Mark Savenok (PICTURED LEFT) won a 6-4 decision for Wheaton against Alex Maynard in the 157-pound weight class.
The Thunder will return to action on Saturday at the Concordia University (Wis.) Inviational in Mequon, Wisconsin.
