Wheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton women's soccer team won a drama-filled match on Monday night with a 4-3 victory against Concordia-Moorhead in two overtimes at Joe Bean Stadium. The Cobbers tied the match at 3-3 with 45-seconds in regulation to send the contest to overtime. Wheaton earned the win with 36.6-seconds left in the second on overtime on a converted penalty kick.

Libby Fransdal scored just 2:30 before halftime to cut Wheaton's lead to 2-1.
Concordia's Gina Weiss scored off of a well-place
Elizabeth Robinson pass at the 55:59 mark of the match to tie the contest at 2-2. DeMoss helped Wheaton retake a 3-2 lead in the 62nd minute when she scored off of a goalie save of her own shot. Wheaton maintained its 3-2 lead until there was less than one minute left in regulation when Concordia's
Emma Ekdahl sent the match into overtime on a goal that was assisted by Weiss.
Wheaton out-shot the Cobbers 5-0 in the first overtime, but the hosts could not convert the five shots on goal to send it into second overtime. A Concordia foul in the penalty area with 36.6-seconds awarded Wheaton a penalty kick opportunity. The penalty kick was converted by DeMoss who blasted the shot into the upper right corner of the net for her second goal of the night and the 4-3 victory.
Wheaton owned a 33-13 edge in shots tonight, with a 5-1 advantage for the hosts on corner kicks. Wheaton goalkeeper
Kelsey Graham made eight saves and allowed three goals in 109 minutes. Concordia goalkeeper
Ali Nelson made 14 saves and allowed four goals.
Wheaton improves to 11-2-1 with the victory, while Concordia-Moorhead is now 8-3-1. The Thunder will travel to North Central on Wednesday afternoon for a CCIW match against the Cardinals.
