Thunder men's soccer shuts out Millikin 6-0; earn spot in CCIW Tournament

Decatur, Ill. - The Wheaton College men's soccer team picked up a berth into next week's CCIW Tournament with a 6-0 victory over Millikin University on Saturday.

The Thunder runs its record to 10-7-2 overall and finish conference play with a 4-2-1 mark. Wheaton will be the number-three seed and play at second-seeded North Park on Wednesday in the CCIW Tournament semifinal in Chicago. Top-seeded Carthage, the 2011 CCIW Champions, will host Elmhurst on Wednesday in the tournament's other semifinal. TOURNAMENT WEBSITE

The Big Blue finish its season at 0-7 in the CCIW and 0-17 overall.

Wheaton scored four goals in the first half and added two more in the second half. Seniors Kristian Rosenberger and Kenneth Feehs (PICTURED RIGHT) tallied two scores each. Senior Cory Weaver and freshman Adam Blackman also scored for the Thunder. Sophomore Chad Musgraves picked up two assists.

Wheaton ended up with a 20-7 shot lead, including 6-0 in corner kicks.
