Wheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton College women's soccer team,
ranked 14th in this week's Division III coaches poll, picked up a 3-0 victory in extremely windy conditions against Wartburg College at Joe Bean Stadium on Tuesday afternoon. Wheaton improves to 3-0 on the year with the win, while Wartburg falls to 1-1.
Wheaton was playing with the wind in the first half and struck with an early goal as senior

Laura Karsten's first goal of the year just 1:08 into the match to give Wheaton the early 1-0 advantage. Wheaton continued to put pressure on the Knights' defense in the first half, out-shooting the guests 21-2 in the half. Wheaton maintained its 1-0 advantage into the halftime intermission.
Wheaton struck early again in the second half as junior

The Thunder out-shot Wartburg 25-9, with an 8-3 edge in shots on goal for the hosts and Wheaton held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks. Wheaton's sophomore goalkeeper,
Hilary Barreto, made one save in 75 minutes of work and freshman
Maddie Allen made her collegiate debut, making two saves in 15 minutes. Wartburg netminder Monica Noti made five saves and allowed three goals in 90 minutes of action.
