Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton College men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Washington (Mo.) Unversity on Saturday.
The Thunder fell to 2-4-3 while the No. 18-ranked Bears improved to 7-0-2.
Washington held sway for the first 10 minutes with ball possession, but Wheaton recovered and started to press the attack. On a counterattack,
Drew Golz broke away from his defender at the top of the box, received the ball from
Chad Musgraves and went one-on-one past the goalkeeper at 14:20.
In the second half, however, the Bears got the equalizer at 54:26 as Patrick McLean took a closely-contested shot from 25 yards out that found the top left corner of the net.
Golz almost gave the Thunder back the lead with 10:18 left in the game as another one-on-one was deflected by the diving goalkeeper.
McLean struck again at 86:49, slipping past the defense and receiving the ball all alone to net the game-winning score.

Ryan Seager made four saves in the loss. Washington goalie Jonathan Jebson made two saves to get the victory in second-half relief.
Wheaton's next game will be at 4:00 PM (ET) on Wednesday at Wabash College.
