Thunder men's soccer team ties Colorado College 1-1

– The Wheaton College men's soccer team experienced its fourth consecutive overtime game on Monday in a 1-1 tie in two overtimes at Colorado College. With its third tie in its last four matches, Wheaton is now 2-2-3 on the season. Colorado College is now 2-3-2 on the season. Wheaton will return to action on Thursday with a 4 PM match at Dominican University.

Wheaton took a 1-0 lead early in Monday's contest as freshman Chad Musgraves tallied his second goal of the season just 3:45 into the match. Musgraves' goal was assisted by Thunder freshman Josh Clark. Wheaton maintained its lead for more than 80 minutes, however; Colorado College's Brandon Ogilvie scored in the 86th minute to tie the match at 1-1. Ogilvie's goal was part of a flurry of 16 shot attempts by the hosts in the second half as the Tigers out-shot Wheaton 16-6 following the halftime intermission.

Wheaton out-shot the Tigers 4-1 in the first overtime and Colorado College had a 4-1 advantage in the second overtime, but neither team could register the game-winning goal.

The Tigers out-shot Wheaton 29-19 in the match, with the hosts holding a 12-4 advantage in shots on goal and a 9-4 edge in corner kicks. Wheaton goalkeeper Ryan Seager made 11 saves and allowed just the late second-half goal. Colorado College goalkeeper Andy McGhie made three saves and allowed Musgraves' goal.
