Wheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton Thunder men's soccer team opened its CCIW schedule on Wednesday night with a 3-0 victory against Elmhurst College (6-6-0/0-3-0). Wheaton is now 3-6-3 on the year, with a 1-0-0 record in conference play. The Thunder will travel to North Park on Saturday for a 7:30 PM match against the Vikings that will be broadcast on
WETN radio.

Cameron Risma scored his second goal of the season with a just a few minutes left in the first half to give Wheaton a 1-0 lead. At the 41:58 mark of the match, freshman
Chad Musgraves drove down the field and from the top right corner of the penalty box he passed off to Risma who blasted the ball into the back of the net.
Just over six minutes into the second half freshman
Jordan Golz extended Wheaton's lead to 2-0.
Josh Clark (PICTURED RIGHT) kicked the ball in front of the net off of a corner kick and the ball was expertly headed in by Golz to give Wheaton the two goal cushion 51:41 into the match. With 80:01 played in the match Risma passed the ball from the far edge of the box to Clark at the top of the box. Clark had time and open space in front of him to blast the ball into the net for the goal that gave Wheaton the final outcome of 3-0.
Wheaton out-shot the Bluejays 15-13, with a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal. The Thunder had seven corner kicks in the match and Elmhurst had five. Wheaton goalkeeper
Ryan Seager made two saves in recording his second shutout of the season. Elmhurst netminder Sebastian Domczewski started the match in net and made five saves, with two goals allowed in 62 minutes. Ryan Miller played the final 28 minutes in the Bluejays' net, with one save and a goal allowed.
