Wheaton, Ill.
- The Wheaton College men's soccer team came through on Senior Night and ran the table in the CCIW with a 3-0 victory over Millikin University on Saturday.

The Thunder won its eighth-straight match to improve to 10-6-3 overall, and a perfect 7-0 in the CCIW. The Big Blue finished its season with a 5-11-1 record, including 0-6-1 in conference play.

Saturday was Senior Night for Stephen Mesko, Cameron Risma and Hudson Stern, who were all recognized with their parents during a halftime ceremony. Stern helped get the Thunder off to a fast start as he assisted on a header goal from Jordan Golz in the fourth minute of the game.

Wheaton was just getting warmed up, despite the chilly, windy conditions. The Thunder kept creating offense and plays in space and dominated ball possession throughout. Drew Golz added to the cushion in the 40th minute as he knocked in an unassisted goal right in front of the net after the ball pinballed around between the feet of different players.

After holding a 13-0 shot advantage in the first half, not much changed for the Thunder in the second half. The hosts kept picking apart the vulnerable Millikin defense and used its speed on long balls to create rushes. One such rush in the 82nd minute paid dividends as Mesko fed Drew Golz at the top of box. Golz then executed a lightning-quick change of direction back to his left foot, caused his defender to fall on his face with the sudden juke, and then scored in front one-on-one with the goalie.

Wheaton ended up with a 29-2 shot advantage as all three Thunder goalkeepers saw action in the game. Ryan Seager was credited with the win while Millikin's Derrek Schwartz took the loss while making eight saves.

The Thunder will host the CCIW Tournament Semifinal as the No. 1 seed against the No. 4 seed at 7:00 PM on Wednesday at Joe Bean Stadium.
