Wheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton Thunder wrestling team hosted sixth-ranked North Central College on Friday night for a dual match in King Arena, as the Cardinals defeated Wheaton 35-6. Wheaton's two victories came in the final two matches of the evening, with exciting conclusions.

Wheaton senior Toby Boltz won a 3-2 decision against North Central's Gabe Youel in the 184-pound weight class. Boltz scored all of his points in the third and final period, including two points with a takedown within the final 30-seconds of the match. Tonight's match was Youel's first loss of the year as he is now 33-1, while Boltz is now 26-7 on the season. Youel is currently ranked third in Division III at 184-pounds, while Boltz is ranked 10th.

Wheaton senior Chase Campbell won a 4-3 decision over North Central's Rodney Knowlton in overtime at 285-pounds. Campbell recorded a takedown with four-seconds remaining in the third overtime period to break a 2-2 tie and take a 4-2 lead in the final match of the night. Campbell is now 13-4 on the year. 

Wheaton will next be in action on Saturday February 14, when the Thunder hosts the 2009 CCIW Championships in King Arena at 10 AM. Please note that the start of the tournament has been changed from its original start time of 9 AM
