Jordan Golz is a Senior member of the Wheaton Thunder soccer team. A 2011 Second Team All-CCIW selection, Golz missed a majority of last season due to injury. This season Golz has scored four goals and tallied four assists in 17 games played. Below is a brief interview with Jordan.

Q: What is your major?

A:
Economics

Q: What (if any) plans do you have after graduation?

A:
I would like to get involved in financial services and eventually return to school a few years down the road to get an MBA.

Q: Why did you choose to play soccer at Wheaton?

A:
I knew for a long time that I wanted to attend Wheaton.  I also knew that I would like to play college soccer if it was a possibility, so when I was offered a roster spot on the team it was a very easy decision to make.  I knew the soccer team here at Wheaton was special when senior captains and juniors on the team made an effort to introduce themselves to me during recruiting visits.  That type of selflessness and humility was very attractive to me and I really wanted to be a part of a team that has a solid Christian culture and is very competitive in D3 soccer at the same time.

Q: What do you enjoy most about Wheaton?

A:
The people.  My teammates, coaches, trainers, professors, and other friends on campus have given me so much more than I could ever give them.  I have been blessed with numerous life-long friendships that are rooted in Christ and that has been the by far the best part about Wheaton.

Q: After missing last year with an injury, what have you enjoyed most about this year?

A:
Getting to play with my brother Stephen has completely made this year for me.  I was very fortunate enough to be able to play with my older brother Drew during my freshman and sophomore seasons, so I am thrilled that I have been healthy enough to enjoy similar on-field memories with Stephen this year.

Q: What is your favorite soccer memory so far in your time at Wheaton?

A:
I think our win against Washington University this season has been my favorite memory.  Not only was my younger brother able to score the game-winner in overtime, but we were down 2-0 with 40 minutes left in the game and we were only 5-3 at that point in the season.  I think a lot of teams would have rolled over and given up at that point but we fought really hard to come back and eventually win.  I couldn’t have been more proud to be a Wheaton soccer player and that game ended up being a huge turning point for our team this season.
