César Gomez takes over the reins as the interim head women's soccer coach for the 2021 season following the July retirement of Pete Felske. Gomez is in his 19th year as a member of the Thunder coaching staff in 2021 and has served primarily as coach of the goalkeepers and as technical coach.

The Paraguay native played soccer in the Paraguayan National League with  1^ro Marzo, (Guazu Cora Villeta), 29 de Septiembre (Guarambare`) and Club General Caballero (San Pedro De Ycuamandyyu`). He has also coached at Wheaton North High School from 1990-98 and has spent 18 years coaching the girls soccer team at West Chicago High School, serving as the head coach since 2006.

He and his wife Lisa have two adult children, Julio and Lena, and two grandchildren, AnnaLisa and Juliana. For 35 years, Gomez worked at Wheaton College in the Facilities Management Department, retiring in 2020. Cesar and his family attend Wheaton Bible Church.
