Cesar Gomez

César Gomez enters his 20th year as a member of the Thunder coaching staff in 2022 and has served primarily as the goalkeeper coach and as technical coach. He also served as the interim head women's soccer coach for the 2021 season following the retirement of Pete Felske in July of that year. He guided the Wheaton women's soccer team to a regular season conference title, a conference championship, and the second round of the 2021 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament in his season as interim head coach. Due to these successes, Gomez was recognized as the CCIW Coach of the Year in 2021.

The Paraguay native played soccer in the Paraguayan National League with  1ro Marzo, (Guazu Cora Villeta), 29 de Septiembre (Guarambare`) and Club General Caballero (San Pedro De Ycuamandyyu`). He also coached at Wheaton North High School from 1990-98 and has spent 18 years coaching the girls soccer team at West Chicago High School, serving as the head coach since 2006.

He and his wife Lisa have two adult children, Julio and Lena, and two grandchildren, AnnaLisa and Juliana. For 35 years, Gomez worked at Wheaton College in the Facilities Management Department, retiring in 2020. Cesar and his family attend Wheaton Bible Church.
