Marcelo Galvao enters his third year as an assistant coach for the the Thunder men's soccer program in 2021. A graduate of Judson College ('96), Marcelo holds a B.A. in Sports Management and multiple Professional Coaching licenses, working with private and public organizations in the U.S., Brazil, Europe, and Asia. Marcelo and his family helped found the All Nations Sports Academy (ANSA) in 2014, which serves the city of Houston and has grown to seven developmental program sites, two competitive program sites, and two recreational program sites, which regularly serve over 400 children and youth on a weekly basis.
After graduating from Judson, Marcelo played professionally with the Chicago Stingers and Rockford Raptors of the USISL before joining the Chicago Eagles as a player/coach. Galvao served three years as the head coach of the women's soccer team at his alma mater, leading Judson to an eighth place finish at the NCCAA Tournament. After serving two seasons as the head men's and women's soccer coach at Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Galvao became the men's and women's soccer head coach at Oklahoma Baptist University in December of 2003. After four years, Galvao joined the staff at Division I Houston Baptist University before moving on to an assistant and reserve head coach role with the Cleveland City Stars of the USL. He also served three seasons on the staff of the Houston Dash of the NPSL before founding ANSA in 2014.
