Tyler Shipley

Tyler Shipley enters his second season as the pitching coach at Wheaton College for the 2019 season. Shipley comes to Wheaton from Concordia University-Chicago where he served as a graduate assistant coach for the Cougars in the 2016 and 2017 seasons. He worked primarily with the pitching staff during his tenure there. In his two seasons with the program, Concordia won two conference championships and made two NCAA Division III Tournament Regional appearances. 

Shipley was the pitching and strength & conditioning coach at Ecclesia College prior to his tenure at Concordia-Chicago. In his time at Ecclesia, the pitching staff set records in multiple categories. The team finished the year with a National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Regional appearance and finished the season nationally ranked.

Shipley graduated from Kickapoo High School in Springfield Missouri, where he was named to the Springfield All-Area Baseball Association Team in 2010, and helped Kickapoo win the Ozark Conference. Collegiately, he pitched for Central Methodist University and Drury University.

Husted states, "I'm very excited about having Tyler on our coaching staff. He is a great fit for Wheaton and the mission of the college and our program. I think that he will bring great experience and knowledge to our pitching staff to further develop them on and off the field. "
 
Shipley graduated from Drury University with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise/Sports Science and Sports Management. He minored in Business Administration and earned a Certificate in Personal Development, Health, Wellness and Nutrition. He later attained a Master's Degree in Leadership in Sport from Concordia University-Chicago.
