Bennett Schiltz returns to the Thunder coaching staff for his third season in the 2021 campaign. Schiltz comes to Wheaton from Washington College in Maryland. During his one season with the Shoremen, they won 24 games, which is the third-most in school history. Schiltz led the pitching staff, who improved in many statistical categories from the 2017 season.

Schiltz spent the two previous seasons at Frostburg State University. The Bobcats made the NCAA Tournament as an at-large bid in 2016, winning 30 games and the regular season conference championship. During his time at Frostburg, Schiltz worked with pitchers and catchers while also earning his masters degree in education.

Schiltz earned his undergraduate degree from Frostburg State with a degree in liberal studies. His team set the school and conference record for wins with 43 on the way to the regular season and tournament conference championships. As a senior, Schitz helped the Bobcats win NCAA Mideast Regional and make an appearance at the Division III World Series. He finished the season as a Third Team All-American on the mound, compiling a 10-1 overall record along with a team-best 1.52 ERA and 64 strikeouts in 82.2 innings of work.
