2007: Hit . 260, with 23 runs scored and a team-high 10 stolen bases...was 2-for-3, with two runs and a triple against North Park on April 3...was 3-for-4 with a double at Benedictine on April 24. 2006: Hit .309 with 23 runs and 14 RBI in 34 games...went 5-for-6 with three runs and two stolen bases against Trinity International...was 4-for-4 in a home win against 14th-ranked Augustana...had a 4-for-5 effort with three runs against Concordia on March 9. High School: Two years of varsity baseball at Wheaton North...team captain and First Team All-Conference as a senior with a .375 batting average...four-year letterwinner for the Falcons’ football team, earning All-Conference and All-Area honors as a senior. Other: Three seasons as a wide receiver for the Thunder football team. Family matters: Matt’s brother Brandon is a junior pitcher for the Thunder.
