Aurora, Ill. – The Wheaton volleyball team traveled to nearby Aurora University on Tuesday night for a non-conference match against the Spartans (15-2). The hosts defeated the Thunder 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-21). Aurora entered tonight's match receiving votes in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top-25 poll. Wheaton faces another tough road test tomorrow night as the Thunder travel to Bloomington, Illinois to face the fourth-ranked Titans of Illinois Wesleyan.
Heidi Horan led the Thunder with eight kills tonight, while
Chelsea Poskocil added six.
Sydney Overweg and
Mary Hamann each had five kills apiece.
Adasyn Konopka distributed 15 assists and
Karalyn Osborne had 10.
Avery Nance and Konopka each had 10 digs apiece. Hamann recorded a team-high four blocks.
