Wheaton, Ill. -- Thunder pitcher
David Levengood has been named to the eighth D3baseball.com Team of the Week for the 2026 season. The recognition joins his CCIW Pitcher of the Week that was announced on Monday afternoon.
Levengood is the third Wheaton baseball player to be named to a D3baseball.com Team of the Week this season, joining shortstop
Jack Gill and relif pitcher
JD Van Hook who were selected on March 18. Additionally, Levengood is the first Wheaton baseball player to be named a CCIW player of the week and earn a D3baseball.com Team of the Week honor in the same week since starting pitcher Michael McCraith accomplished it March 5, 2019.
Levengood earned his third win of the year on the mound with 7-2/3 innings of shutout baseball in a 3-1 victory against North Central last Friday. He hurled 6-2/3 innings of no-hit baseball against the Cardinals in the stellar afternoon. He allowed just two hits in the game, facing 28 batters, and matched his career-high with a season-best eight strikeouts. He allowed just two help lead the Thunder to a key win. The Cardinals entered last Friday's first game having scored 85 runs in their nine previous contests, but Levengood did not allow any runners past second base for the entirety of his time on the mound.
Wheaton hosts Elmhurst tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m. at Lee Pfund Stadium.
