Wheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton track and field teams participated in the "Old Fashioned Track Meet" on Wednesday. The recently created event featured Wheaton, North Central and Elmhurst participating in events at Lawson Field and McCully Stadium on Wheaton's campus.
Elmhurst's women's program scored 82 points in the meet, followed by North Central with 75 points and Wheaton tallied 44 points.
Allison Roozeboom finished first in the women's discus throw and shot put. She won the discus throw in 36.81 meters (120' 9") and Roozeboom had an effort of 12.33 meters (40' 5-1/2") in the shot put.
Grace Crowder won the women's high jump with an effort of 1.65 meters (5'5").
Ashtin Roy placed fifth in the pole vault with an effort of 2.95 meters (9' 8").
Sally Elsen finished second in the women's 100-meter hurdles in 15.05-seconds.
Chloe Dew finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:10.82 and
Ciarra Rockness was fifth in 1:11.74.
Clodagh O'Bryant won the 800-meters in 2:22.40 and Julia Snyder was fifth with a time of 2:29.81. Three Wheaton runners finished in the top-five of the 1,500-meter run. Emmaire Marino finished second in 4:53.50,
Abby Rickard was fourth in 4:56.91 and
Laura Prothero finished fifth in 4:57.56.
Sophia Huber placed third in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:16.68. Wheaton had the top three spots in the small field in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase. O'Bryant won the event with a time of 11:22.50, followed by Allie Woolever in second place with a time of 12:07.50, and Allie Crumley finished third in 12:13.43.
Analisa Boshart finished the women's 5,000-meter run in 19:48.34 with a second-place finish. Her teammates
Abby Rickard (19:55.47) and
Louisa Brorson (20:04.02), finished fourth and fifth respectively.
North Central's men's program finished with 99.5 points, followed by Wheaton's 40.5 points and Elmhurst scored 32 points on the day.
Matthias Everest finished first in a 17-man field in the men's 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:19.90. Cooper Swain posted the top time in a two-man field in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:23.85.
Aidan Langan finished first in men's 200-meter dash with a time of 22.33-seconds and the senior also placed fourth in the 100-meter dash in 11.01-seconds. David Harvin finished third in the 110-meter hurdles with an effort of 15.53-seconds.
Ben Maher was the top performer in the men's javelin throw field that featured only Wheaton competitors. Maher had a toss of 49.69 meters (163' 00") that bested teammate Cohen Oberg's effort of 43.58 meters (142' 11") in second place. Maher also finished fifth in the high jump with an effort of 1.67 meters (5' 5-3/4").
Senior Joshua Schuurman placed third in the men's pole vault, clearing a height of 3.80-meters (12' 5-1/2"). Jonathan Hurst placed fourth in the men's discus throw with a toss of 39.46 meters (129' 5").
Tobiah Gieser recorded a time of 4:10.71 in the men's 1,500-meter run to finish fifth in the event.
