Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton women's tennis team hosted UW-Eau Claire in a non-conference match on Saturday at the Wheaton Tennis Courts. Wheaton won two of the three doubles matches this afternoon and that played a key role in today's 4-3 victory for the Thunder.

Wheaton's No. 1 doubles team of Madeline Gentry and Tatum Thurstone won a 5-4 decision against the Blugolds' team of Reese Burton and Beatriz Felchak. Janet Kondo and Ella Malone picked up a critical 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles against Delaney Hansen and Morgan Briggman.

Each team picked up three victories in singles play today. Gentry was a winner at No. 1 singles against Burton. The Thunder senior rallied to earn a 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-4) victory.

Malone was a 6-3, 6-3 victor against Aubrey Wittwer in their matchup at No. 3 singles. Mia Luo defeated Briggman 6-2, 6-2 at No. 6 singles action.

Wheaton closes out its regular season schedule next Saturday at home against Coe College.
