Isaac Bledsoe's new school record in the men's 200-meter dash highlight Wheaton Invitational

Wheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton track and field teams hosted the Wheaton Invitational track meet on Tuesday. The meet was originally scheduled for Thursday afternoon, however, it was moved up two days due to the forecast for April 2. The start of today's meet was delayed 90 minutes due to severe thunderstorms in the area on Tuesday morning.

Isaac Bledsoe recorded a time of 21.41-seconds in the men's 200-meter dash to set a new school record. His effort eclipsed the previous standard of 21.54 that was set by Richard Hollatz in 1955. Bledsoe finished second among the 58 competitors in the event. His effort ranks second in the CCIW this spring and is tied for 11th in NCAA Division III.

Bledsoe also finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.75-seconds among the 44 participants. Bledsoe's third second-place finish of the afternoon came in the men's long jump with a leap of 6.74-meters (22' 1-1/2").
 
Tpbiah Gieser had the top time in the men's 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:24.57. Drew Swiston led a strong Wheaton effort in the men's 3,000-meter run with a second-place time of 9:12.40 and teammate Josh Steiner was third in 9:16.25. Matthias Everest finished fourth in the men's 1,5000-meter run with a time of 4:08.43.
 
Cohen Oberg placed second in the men's high jump with a leap of 1.77-meters ( 5' 9-3/4"). David Harvin placed third in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.20-seconds.
