Naperville, Ill. – The Wheaton women's track and field competed at the Chicagoland Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday at North Central College. Friday's Wheaton effort was highlighted by a pair of indoor school records for the Thunder women's track & field team.
Junior
Grace Crowder (PICTURED ABOVE) established a new school record in the indoor women's jump with a leap of 1.69-meters (5' 6.5") that placed second at the meet. Her effort tonight is currently tied for sixth in Division III in the women's high jump.
Ashtin Roy set a new school record for the Thunder in the women's indoor pole vault with a effort of 3.23-meters (10' 7"). Roy placed 10
th in the event tonight. Sophomore
Allison Roozeboom finished third in the women's shot pot with a heave of 11.71-meters (38' 5").
Junior
Heidi Krekelberg finished third in the finals of the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.83-meters.
Sadie Richert placed sixth in the 400-meter dash with an effort of 1:01.71. Sophomore
Sally Elsen recorded a time of 9.41-meters in the finals of 60-meter hurdles to place eighth.
Three Thunder runners finished in the top-four of the 5,000-meter run. Freshman
Clodagh O'Bryant recorded a time of 18:43.21 to place second in the event. Senior
Lily Lebo was third in 18:45.96, while fellow senior
Elizabeth LaBrin was fourth in 18:49.34. Freshman Allie Woolever placed seventh in the one-mile run with a time of 5:29.28. Freshman Ally Crumly recorded an effort of 11:29.01 in the 3,000-meters to place eighth in the meet.
The Thunder women's track & field team returns to North Central College next Friday for the F. Lee Slick Invitational.
