Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton football team is ranked in the final D3football.com and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Top-25 polls of the 2025 season. Wheaton is seventh in both the
final D3football.com Top-25 poll for the season, as well as the final
AFCA Division III Coaches Poll of 2025.
The recognition marks the 18th time in the 22-year history of the D3football.com Top-25 poll that Wheaton has finished a full season in the ranking. Wheaton has placed in the top-10 of the website's final poll eight times in its history and this year's spot in seventh place is the highest placement for Wheaton in the final D3football.com Top-25 poll since 2019 when the Thunder finished fifth.
Wheaton finished the 2025 campaign 11-3, advancing to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Division III Playoffs for the fifth time in program history and the first time since 2019.Â
Wheaton finished ranked in the top-20 of Division III in 11 different team categories this season.
