Jackson, Wis. – The Thunder men's tennis team began its 2026 schedule on Saturday evening across the border by taking on the Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors. Today's matchup was the first time the two squads have ever faced off, with Wheaton earning a perfect 7-0 victory over its NACC opponent.

Andrew Jang tallied a 6-1 victory in No. 1 doubles. Sophomore

Corin Tang snagged a win at No. 2 doubles by the same scoreline, and the duo of
Joshua Hartman and
Ryder Ward confirmed Wheaton's doubles dominance with a 6-0 bagel in the third spot.
Turning over to the singles portion, Tang earned his first win at No. 1 singles in his collegiate career, winning 6-1, 6-0. Jang, Hill, and Hartman cruised past their opponents in perfect fashion with 6-0, 6-0 double bagels. Meanwhile, Winters and Ward dropped just one game in their entire respective matches at No. 3 and No. 5 singles, each winning 6-0, 6-1.
After enjoying a dominant start to the season, Wheaton's next matches will occur at the annual Warhawk Invite in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin next weekend. The Thunder will first battle hosts UW-Whitewater on Friday before taking on Grinnell College and Luther College the following day.
