Wheaton, Ill. - Wheaton junior Colin Moore has been named a CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week in football, for his play last Saturday in a 61-13 victory against Carroll at McCully Stadium. This is the second week in a row a member of the Wheaton Thunder defense has received the award, as Moore's honor follows Rex Kroger's selection for the award last Monday. This marks the first time in his career that Moore has received the honor.

Moore was instrumental in getting the Thunder rolling early with an interception in the first quarter on Caroll's third offensive drive. Moore was able to stick with his receiver who had run about 15 yards off the line of scrimmage, as the ball was in the air he was able to make the adjustment and get in front of the Carroll wideout to make a play on the ball and get the interception, getting the Wheaton offense back on the field at Caroll's own 41-yard line. The Thunder would score on the ensuing drive making the score 13-0 early on in what would become a 61-13 rout. Moore also recorded a tackle for loss and tied for the team-lead with four solo tackles.

Moore has 18 total tackles in Wheaton's three games this season, and his 12 solo tackles is second on the team. Additionally, he is tied for second on the team in passes broken-up.

The No. 14 ranked Thunder travel to No.1 ranked North Central for the "Battle for the Little Brass Bell" on Saturday afternoon in a 6:00 p.m. kickoff in Naperville.
