Kalamazoo, Mich. -- For the third successive season, the Wheaton men's tennis program was able to send some of its players to the ITA Division III Central Regional Championships. Representing the Thunder at this year's tournament were
Andrew Jang and
Corin Tang, the former of whom was making his debut in the showcase event and the latter his second appearance after taking part in the 2024 Championships, as well. This weekend's competition, which is being held at Kalamazoo College, stretches over four days and will conclude on Monday, although the Thunder players' participation was limited to Friday and Saturday as both men gained valuable experience matched up alongside the best players of the Central region.
Jang and Tang competed in both the doubles and singles brackets this weekend. The Wheaton duo fell 8-6 in a competitive first round matchup against a pair from Hanover College on Friday to drop into the consolation field before topping a Rose-Hulman duo in an 8-7 [7-4] tiebreak thriller on Saturday morning to advance to the next round. But their second tiebreak contest did not fall their way, as a pairing from North Central College edged Jang and Tang, 8-7 [7-3], in the consolation bracket quarterfinals to end their participation in the doubles category.
Jang (

Tang (

The Wheaton men's tennis squad does not have any team matches on its schedule this fall, meaning that Jang and Tang will return to competitive action alongside their Thunder teammates in February 2026.
