GAME STATS 3 Wheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton Thunder volleyball team hosted a tri-match on Friday as Beloit and Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) visited King Arena. Wheaton defeated Beloit 3-0 In the opening match of the day. IIT defeated Beloit, 3-0 in the second match, and the Thunder won a 3-1 decision against IIT in the final match of the day.
The Thunder defeated Beloit 3-0 in the opener. Wheaton topped the Buccaneers 25-10 in the first set; the hosts won the second set 25-11 and the Thunder closed out the match with a 25-14 victory in the third set.
Sydney Overweg tallied eight kills and a .400 attack percentage in the win.
Mary Patrick tallied seven kills, and
Jordan Benford added six kills with a .600 attack percentage.
Reese Donahoe led the Thunder with 17 assists and four service aces.
Lacey Higgins had 12 assists in the match.
Grace Autry made a team-high seven digs.
Wheaton earned a 3-1 victory in the final match of the night as the hosts defeated IIT. The Scarlet Hawks won the first set 25-23 and Wheaton rebounded with a 25-22 victory in the second set. The Thunder won the third set 25-21 and closed out the match with a 25-23 win in the fourth set.
Katherine Adkison had a match-high 14 kills against IIT and Benford added 13.
Ashton Major had 10 kills and
Paris Griffin recorded seven. Higgins had 25 assists and Donahoe recorded 17 assists.
Grace Autry tallied 20 digs, and Overweg had six total blocks.
Wheaton is off until October 7 when the squad hosts Wisconsin Lutheran in a non-conference match.
