Wheaton, Ill. - Thunder senior Madeline Gentry has been named the CCIW Women's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference on Wednesday morning. This marks the fourth time that Gentry has won the conference's weekly award. She also received the honor on September 7, 2022; Sept. 20, 2023; and April 15, 2025.

Gentry has posted a 5-0 record at No. 1 singles this season, including two wins in CCIW play. She defeated Carroll's Natasa Pupovac, 6-1, 6-0 on Friday. She  then earned a hard-fought 7-6 (14-12), 6-3 triumph over Xingchen Liu of Carthage on Saturday in a 7-0 victory against the Firebirds.  Gentry and teammate Tatum Thurstone earned a 6-0 victory against Carroll's Pupovac and Katherine Trifilio of Carroll last Friday in the victory against the Pioneers.

Gentry and the Thunder are 5-0 on the season with a 3-0 record in CCIW play. Wheaton returns to action on Sept. 24th as the Thunder host Lake Forest at the Wheaton Tennis Courts.
