Fon du Lac, Wis. – The Wheaton Thunder volleyball team opened its 2025 campaign on Friday night at the Marian University Invitational. The Thunder defeated the Eagles of Benedictine University, 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-15) in Friday's opening day of action.
Katherine Adkison led Wheaton with 12 kills, and
Jordan Benford contributed 10 kills with a .381 attack percentage.
Ashton Major tallied nine kills with a .571 attack percentage.
Lacey Higgins and
Reese Donahoe each contributed 13 assists. Libero
Miriam Pozdol-Niego and Benford each had a team-high seven digs as five Wheaton players had five or more digs in the match. Adkison and Benford each had two service aces.
The Thunder return to action on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. against UW-La Crosse. Wheaton's participation in the tournament closes at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow against the hosts of Marian University (Wis.).
