Thunder soccer programs each earn College Team Academic Awards from United Soccer Coaches

Wheaton, Ill. - Recently, United Soccer Coaches announced their 2024-25 College Team Academic Award winners. Wheaton's men's and women's soccer programs each earned the award. Wheaton was one of only 151 programs across all three NCAA Divisions and the NAIA to have both its men's and women's program receive the award. To earn the award, a program must have a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

The Thunder men's program posted a team GPA of 3.51 in the 2024-25 academic year. Wheaton was one of 283 men's collegiate receiving the award. 

The Wheaton women's program recorded a team GPA of 3.62 in 2024-25. The Thunder were among 414 collegiate women's programs to earn the College Team Academic Award.


Wheaton and North Central were the only CCIW institutions to have both their men's and women's programs each earn the Team Academic Award. The Wheaton men's program was among four CCIW schools that earned the honor: Illinois Wesleyan, North Central, North Park and Wheaton. Wheaton was among four CCIW women's soccer programs to earn the award: Elmhurst, Millikin, North Central, and Wheaton.
