Wheaton, Ill. - The 2025 Wheaton Thunder men's tennis team has been recognized with multiple academic awards from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
Wheaton picked up an ITA All-Academic Team award for the 2025 season. Wheaton was one of 136 Division III men's programs to earn the award. The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and all varsity letterwinners should be factored into the team GPA for the current academic year. The Thunder men's tennis team haf a 3.65 cumulative GPA at the conclusion of the 2024-25 academic year.
Eight members of the Wheaton men's tennis program were honored as ITA Scholar Athletes as
David Hill,
Toby Schmidt,
Samuel Schutz,
Tim Steiner,
Corin Tang,
Evan Walther,
Ryder Ward and
Jacob Williams each earned the recognition. In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letterwinner, and 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.
