Wheaton, Ill. - The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its Division III All-Academic Teams for 2024-25 earlier this week. The Wheaton men's and women's programs both earned representation on the teams. To qualify for the award, a team must have at least a 3.1 cumulative team GPA.
The Wheaton women's program posted a 3.66 cumulative GPA to earn the award. Wheaton joined fellow CCIW programs Augustana, Carthage, Carroll, Elmhurst, Illinois Wesleyan, North Central and North Park in earning the recognition in 2024-25.
The Thunder men's team posted a 3.43 cumulative GPA for the academic year in earning the Division III All-Academic Team recognition. Wheaton was among seven CCIW teams (Augustana, Carthage, Carroll, Elmhurst, North Central, North Park and Wheaton) to pick up the honor.
Additionally the USTFCCCA presented All-Academic individual awards for the 2024-25 season. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards: competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship; and/or finished the regular season ranked in the national-top 50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 35 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA Descending Order List.
The Thunder women's program had two individual honorees:
Grace Crowder and
Caroline Stetina. The Wheaton men's team was represented by:
Ty Bova,
Joshua Cross,
Sam Elsen,
Bradley Lauber, and
Sheldon Powell.
