Andrew Wade named Wheaton men’s soccer assistant coach

Wheaton, Ill. Wheaton College (Ill.) Men's Soccer Head Coach Steve McCrath has announced that Andrew Wade will join the Thunder men's soccer team as its full-time assistant coach. Wade is a 2018 graduate of Wheaton, earning his B.A. in Economics. 

Wade played four seasons for the Thunder men's soccer program, participating in 70 matches in his career, with 14 assists and two goals. He led Wheaton in assists in both his junior (2017) and senior (2018) seasons. He capped off his Thunder playing career with First Team All-CCIW honors and Second Team All-Region accolades in 2018.

McCrath says of Wade, "I am really excited to have Andrew come back to Wheaton. He understands the program and has a heart for Wheaton Soccer." McCrath continues, "Upon meeting with him, I appreciated Andrew's professionalism, and the ease in how we connected. I was impressed with his knowledge of the game and all that he will bring with him in his return."  

Wade returns to Wheaton following two seasons as an assistant coach at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts. During his time at Gordon the program produced 10 All-Conference players and two All-Region performers. Prior to his tenure at Gordon, Wade served as an assistant coach at Catholic University of America from January of 2021 to July of 2023. In his time with the Cardinals, Catholic made two NCAA Division III Tournament appearances, and he coached 13 All-Conference players, five All-Region selections and one All-American.
