Wheaton, Ill. Wheaton College's Chief Development Officer Anthony DAndrea has announced the appointment of Jeff Peltz as an Associate Director of Development for Athletics, a new position within Wheaton's Development Office. Peltz retired as the Wheaton College Postmaster on June 30, a role he served in since 1982. He will continue his role as defensive line coach for the Thunder football team. He joined the Thunder coaching staff in 1982.

In his new role as Associate Director of Development for Athletics, Peltz will cultivate relationships with alumni, parents, and friends with a focus on supporting Wheaton Athletics. He will be working with the Advancement Division and the Athletics Department to open doors and significantly increase giving.

"We are excited to welcome Jeff to our team," states DAndrea. He continues, "With more than 40 years of relationships and 25 years of experience raising funds for the Wheaton Football Ministry Partnership (WFMP), Jeff brings deep connections and a strong track record to this role. He will hit the ground running when he begins in September. Beyond his professional strengths, Jeff is simply a quality person who loves Wheaton's mission, and it's an honor to partner with him in this way."

Peltz graduated from Wheaton in 1981 following an impressive career for the Wheaton football program. He served as the team captain in 1980 and was a Second Team All-CCIW selection for the Crusaders in both 1979 and 1980. He is Wheaton's career quarterback sacks leader with 37, and in 1978 he set a single-season school record for sacks with 14, a record which stood until 1995. In 2003, Jeff was inducted into Wheaton's "Hall of Honor" as a player.

Since 2000, Peltz has led the Wheaton Football Ministry Partnership (WFMP), leading Wheaton football players, alumni, administrators, and others on national and international mission trips. Peltz has raised $2.5 million for the program that has become a key part of the Wheaton football program.
