Geneva, Ohio - Freshman
Ty Bova represented Wheaton on Friday afternoon at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Spire Institute in northeastern Ohio. He competed in a 22-man field in the men's high jump competition.
Bova finished 11th today as his performance earned him Second Team All-American recognition from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Bova cleared the opening height of 1.95 meters (6' 4-3/4") on his second attempt of the day. The jumpers then advanced to 2.00 meters (6' 6-3/4") and he cleared the bar on his opening attempt at that height. His day ended after missing on three attempts at 2.05 meters (6' 8-3/4").
Bova is Wheaton's first All-American in the men's high jump during the outdoor season since Collin Gray earned the honor as a sophomore with a fifth-place finish in the event at the 2016 D3 Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
