Wheaton women's track and field has strong effort at the Don Church Twilight Meet

Sarah QuintanillaWheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton track and field teams hosted a meet for the second time in six days as the Don Church Twilight Meet took place on Thursday at McCully Stadium and Lawson Field.

Junior Elizabeth LaBrin won the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:47.24. Louisa Brorson finished seventh in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:07.23.

Junior Sarah Quintanilla (PICTURED LEFT) posted a time of 2:25.43 to place second in the 28-woman field in the 800-meter run. Julia Snider was seventh in the 800-meters with a time of 2:31.12 and freshman Kate Creighton was eighth in 2:31.16. Sophomore Abby Rickard was sixth in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:59.33.

Sally ElsenFreshman Sally Elsen (PICTURED RIGHT) was second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.45 seconds and Hannah Jones was eighth in 18.47 seconds. Harris placed third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.17, while Elsen was just behind her in 1:06.44. Sophomore Heidi Krekelberg posted a time of 26.06 to place third in the women's 200-meter dash, while Olivia Kiddy was fourth in the 400-meter dash with an effort of 1:03.31.

Crowder finished second in the women's high jump with a leap of 1.58-meters (5' 2-1/4"). Allison Roozeboom placed eighth in the women's shot put with a heave of 11.38-meters (37' 4") and she was also eighth in the women's discus throw with an effort of 35.16-meters (115' 4").

Both Wheaton relays placed highly at today's meet. Wheaton won the women's 4X400-meter relay as the foursome of Elsen, Harris, Kiddy and Sadie Richert placed first with a time of 4:10.10. The quartet of Richert, Harris, Crowder and Heidi Krekelberg finished second in the 4X100-meter relay with a time of 49.76 seconds.
