Track and field opens the 2025-26 indoor season at Carthage's "Forever Red Alumni Classic"

Kenosha, Wis. – The Wheaton track and field teams opened the 2025-26 indoor track and field schedule on Saturday at Carthage College's "Forever Red Alumni Classic". The Wheaton women placed third in a nine-team field, while the Thunder men finished fourth out of 12 teams.

Carthage's men scored 155 points to finish first in the men's team standings. UW-Parkside scored 117 points in second place, Lake Forest finished third with 45 points, Wheaton was fourth with 41 points and North Park tallied 32 points in fifth place.

Isaac Bledsoe finished first in the men's long jump with a leap of 7.03-meters (23' 3/4"). Cohen Oberg was fifth in the same event with an effort of 6.68-meters (21' 11"). Oberg was fifth in the high jump with an effort of 1.85-meters (6' 3/4"). Bledsoe finished fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 13.25-meters (43' 5-3/4") and he posted a time of 6.61-seconds to finish fifth in the 55-meters. Oberg placed fourth in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.19-seconds.

Dan Sanoussi posted a time of 36.93-seconds to finish first in the men's 300-meters. Joshua Schuurman placed third in the men's pole vault with an effort of 4.0-meters (13' 1-1/2").

Carthage's women finished first in the standings with 158 points, followed by UW-Parkside's 141 points in second place, while Wheaton was third with 55 points, North Park scored 34 points in fourth place and Lake Forest finished fifth with 21 points.

Wheaton took the top two spots in the women's 800-meter run. Senior Meredith Eisses finished first in the 800-meters with a time of 2:36.89, while Abby Lawson was second in 2:36.90. Hannah Harris placed second in the 400-meters with a time of 1:02.93, while Chloe Dew finished fifth in 1:06.12.

Heidi Krekelberg finished third in the women's 55-meters with a time of 7.36-seconds. She also had a third-place effort in the 200-meters in 23.30-seconds.

Junior Ashtin Roy was third in the women's pole vault with a height of 2.95-meters (9' 8"). Hannah Jones finished fifth in the women's 55-meter hurdles.
