Tess Boyer garners CCIW Women's Swimming Student-Athlete of the Week recognition

Wheaton, Ill. -- Following a headline performance in the Thunder swimming & diving teams' dual meet against Carthage College, Wheaton's Tess Boyer has been named the CCIW Women's Swimming Student-Athlete of the Week. Today's announcement marks Boyer's second weekly accolade of the season and the ninth of her career. Wheaton has now earned three of this year's five Women's Swimmer of the Week nods after Aubrey Swanson collected the honor last week.

The junior went a perfect 7-for-7 in each of her events on Friday and Saturday, winning three individual competitions and competing on four victorious relay squads. Boyer helped lead Wheaton to first-place finishes in the mixed 200-yard freestyle, the women's 200- and 400-yard medley, and the 400 free relays, posting a CCIW-best time in the 400 medley alongside Swanson, Lydia Hansen, and Savannah Jeffery.

The Kansas native registered new conference-leading time marks in all three of her solo swims last weekend. She won the women's 100-yard freestyle race with a time of 53.39 and extended her dominance in the individual medley category with victories in the 200-yard and 400-yard editions. Boyer's time of 2:06.91 in the former ranks 12th in all of Division III this year while her D3B cut time of 4:28.98 in the latter is currently the fifth-fastest line in the country.
