Wheaton, Ill. - Wheaton seniors Mark Forcucci and Peter Johanik have been named a CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week in football for their efforts in the Thunder's 52-6 victory over North Park on Saturday. This is the first weekly accolade for the Thunder offense and fourth for the defense following the performances of Zeke Harris, Caleb Moore, and Rex Kroger.

Johanik recorded four solo tackles in Saturday's contest all of which were for a loss of yards, three sacks, and two forced fumbles, each of which led to a score on the following possession. His four TFL's totaling -13 yards and his first of the day, gave him a career total of 51.5, to set a Wheaton career record. He surpassed the previous record of 50.5 TFL's set by Wheaton All-American and 2008 NFL sixth round pick Andy Studebaker (2004-07). His three- sack effort is the most in a single-game in the CCIW this season, as is his TFL mark of four. Johanik's first strip sack of the game was recovered at North Park's 23-yard line and Thunder scored on the next play giving Wheaton an early 14-0 lead. His second strip sack was also recovered on North Park's side of the field and the Thunder once again scored on following play. His QB hurry on fourth-and-one in the second quarter forced a turnover on downs and eventually led to Wheaton grabbing an early 21-0 lead.

Forcucci tied the Thunder single-game record with six touchdown passes in the Wheaton victory this Saturday. Along with Wheaton single-game history, Forcucci's effort is tied for the highest single-game passing TD total in the CCIW this season. He threw 17 times, completing 13 of his passes, good for a 76.5% completion percentage with 282 yards and adding to his conference leading 73.5% completion percentage. Forcucci opened up with a 52-yard connection for a touchdown and 23-yard TD pass in the first quarter. In the second quarter he added TD passes of 21 and 11 yards and he opened the second half delivering a 65-yard strike and put a bow on his six touchdown performance with 29-yard touchdown.

Johanik leads the CCIW in tackles for loss (16.5) and solo tackles for loss (14) and he is tied for first in sacks (8.5). Forcucci has the least interceptions (3), highest QB efficiency (222.8), second most touchdowns (26), and third most passing yards (2,001) in the CCIW.
