Wheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton women's basketball team hosted Simpson College in the championship game of the 2025 Beth Baker Classic on Saturday afternoon in King Arena. The visiting Storm defeated the Thunder 74-47.
Simpson improves to 2-0 on the season. Wheaton is 2-2 on the 2025-26 campaign as the Thunder travel to Ripon College on Tuesday night for a road non-conference contest.

Kate Oliver led the Thunder with 15 points, adding six rebounds and three assists. Oliver was named to the All-Tournament team for her efforts this weekend.
Lauryn Ham scored a career-high eight points.
Petra Trumbach scored seven points with seven rebounds and three assists. Freshman
Lydia Brogan collected a game-high nine rebounds.
Ella Anderson led Simpson with 18 points and seven rebounds in earning All-Tournament honors. Her teammate, Maddax DeVault was named the Beth Baker Classic MVP as she scored 17 points with four assists and three steals on Saturday.
Wheaton shot 31.6% (18-of-57) from the field, including 26.9% (7-of-26) from three-point range. The Storm posted a 47% (31-for-66) field goal percentage, including 20% (2-for-10) behind the three-point arc. Simpson shot 83.3% (10-for-12) at the free throw line today and Wheaton had a 50% (4-for-8) effort at the charity stripe. Simpson out-rebounded the Thunder 42-36, including a 13-12 advantage on the offensive glass.
Simpson scored the game's first 13 points today and never looked back in a game they never trailed. The guests out-scored Wheaton 52-8 in the paint and utilized their stingy defense for a 16-2 advantage in fast breaks and 13-2 in points off turnovers.
