Waverly, Iowa. – The Wheaton men's cross country team competed at the 2025 NCAA Division III Midwest Regional on Saturday. The Thunder men's program finished 12
th in the 32-team field.
The host Wartburg Knights finished first on the 8K course with 30 points. UChicago scored 87 points in second place, North Central College placed third with 93 points, Loras scored 128 points in fourth place and WashU finished fifth with 134 points. Central College (Iowa) scored 189 points in sixth place, Simpson finished seventh with 225 points, Nebraska Wesleyan tallied 239 points in eighth place,
Grinnell had 279 points in ninth place and Dubuque rounded out the top-10 with 285 points. Luther finished 11
th with 322 points, Wheaton scored 378 points in 12
th place, Millikin was 13
th with 401 points, Cornell (Iowa) scored 401 points in 14
th and University of the Ozarks tallied 408 points in 15
th place.
Cornell's Isaac van Westrienen finished first in the 238-man field with the winning time of 24:00.9. Wartburg's Isaiah Hammerand finished second in 24:08.4, Loras' Isaac Bourne finished third in 24:15.0, followed by BJ Sorg of North Central in 24:19.9 and Wartburg's Lance Sobaski rounded out the top-five in 24:26.0.
Jude Hubbard was the top performer for the Wheaton men's program in 25:52.9 to place 45
th.
Josh Steiner posted a time of 26:19.0 in 54
th place and
Sheldon Powell was 85
th in 26:51.7.
Michael Osielski recorded an effort of 27:02.7 in 94
th place and
