Wheaton, Ill. -- After enjoying strong performances in the Thunder's dual meet against Calvin University last Saturday, Wheaton's
Renata Marantz has been selected as the CCIW Women's Diving Student-Athlete of the Week while
Aubrey Swanson has collected this week's swimming award. Today's announcement marks the first weekly accolade for each student-athlete, and Marantz is the first Thunder women's diver to earn the recognition in 2025-26. Swanson joins
Tess Boyer as a conference Swimmer of the Week honoree this season.
The sophomore Swanson teamed up with Boyer,
Lydia Hansen, and
Kate Zurowski to place third in the opening event of last weekend's meet, the women's 200-yard medley relay. The four-woman team were Wheaton's highest finishers in the competition via a total time of 1:50.80, and Swanson posted the best split of the quartet by swimming a 23.98-second anchor leg. The Virginia native also took part in the women's 400-yard freestyle relay at the end of the day, combining with Boyer,
Allison Henschel, and
Kara Grace Hess to come in third place while tallying a season-best 55.46 split on the race's lead-off leg. In between these two relay showings, Swanson earned a solo third-place finish in the women's 50-yard freestyle via a time of 24.61 seconds that currently leads the CCIW this season. She also secured a new lifetime-best mark in the 100-yard butterfly competition on a 1:02.90 line.
Marantz was the only diver to compete on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards last Saturday. The junior tallied a score of 148.40 in the 1-meter competition before earning a 140.30 total from three meters to net this week's award. Her 3-meter score is a lifetime-best mark and is currently second-highest in the conference this season.
Marantz and Swanson will next compete alongside their teammates this weekend, as Wheaton hosts Carthage College for a two-day dual meet inside Lederhouse Natatorium that will begin on Friday afternoon and conclude on Saturday.
