Rock Island, Ill. - The Wheaton Thunder cross country teams returned to action on Saturday at Augustana College's 42
nd Annual Brissman-Lundeen Invitational at Saukie Golf Course. The Wheaton women's team finished second in the seven-team field, while the Thunder men placed third in a 12-team field.
University of Chicago finished first in the women's team standings with 25 points. Wheaton scored 71 points in second place, Aurora was third with 74 points, Augustana placed fourth with 112 points and the University of Illinois Cross Country Club was fifth with 120 points. Millikin scored 137 points in sixth place and Beloit closed out the field with 198 points in seventh place.
Aubrey Chaney of the Illinois Cross Country Club finished first with a time of 23:07.2 on the 6K course. UChicago's Nora Holmes was second with a time of 23:08.4, and Olivia Resnick of the Maroons was third in 23:24.1. Wheaton sophomore
Abby Rickard placed fourth in 23:27.0 and Elsa Krummel of UChicago rounded out the top-five with a time of 23:41.7.

The Thunder squad will make its second-consecutive of three-straight trips to Rock Island on October 18 for the Augustana Interregional Invitational. Augustana and Saukie Golf Course will also host the CCIW Championships on November 1. Â Â
