Soren Richardson has been named to the 2025-26 D3hoops.com Men's Basketball Preseason All-America Team. Richardson is the first Wheaton player to be named to the website's preseason All-America Team since Nyameye Adom was named in November of 2021 to the 2021-22 Preseason All-America Team.
Richardson averaged a league leading 23.1 points per game season season, a mark that ranked eighth among all Division III men's basketball players. A two-time CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week selection last winter, he shot 46.7% (201-430) from the field, making 62 three-pointers. Richardson shot 80.7% (113-140) at the free throw line on the year. He averaged 4.7 rebounds per game, 2.3 assists per game and 1.5 steals per game.
In Wheaton's 16 CCIW contests last season, Richardson led the league in scoring with 23.3 points per game, becoming the 16th Wheaton player to lead the CCIW in scoring since 1947. He shot 48.3% (131-271) from the field, including 39.6% (42-106) from three-point range. Richardson averaged 4.4 rebounds per game, with 2.2 assists per game against league opponents.
In Wheaton's win at North Park on February 5, 2025, Richardson scored 53 points against the Vikings. His 53-point effort is the fifth-highest point total ever in a CCIW game and is the highest point total in a conference game since North Park's Jack Ecker scored 54 points against Carthage in 1995. In Wheaton's final six games of the season, Richardson averaged a remarkable 30.3 points per game, including four games of more than 25 points.
Richardson concluded the 2024-25 CCIW regular season schedule as the conference's scoring leader (CCIW games only) with 373 points. His 373 points in CCIW play is the most points in conference play since Wheaton's Aston Francis scored 512 points in 2019.
Richardson and the Thunder open the 2025-26 season on Saturday, November 8 at Concordia University (Wis.). Wheaton will open its home schedule on Wednesday, November 12 at Lake Forest College.
