Tess Boyer earns CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week recognition in women's swimming

Wheaton, Ill. -- After a triumphant first performance of the season at Saturday's Chicagoland Triangular, Wheaton junior Tess Boyer has been named the CCIW Women's Swimming Student-Athlete of the Week according to today's announcement from the conference office. This honor marks the eighth weekly award of Boyer's collegiate career, and the All-American has earned more conference nods than any other swimmer in the CCIW since 2023-24.

The Wheaton swimming and diving teams traveled to the University of Chicago last weekend to take on the #4/#8 Maroons and the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks in their season-opening meet, and Boyer won three races at the triangular to help lead the Thunder women's squad to a head-to-head victory over IIT.

She began the event schedule by combining with Savannah Jeffery, Lydia Hansen, and Aubrey Swanson to place first in the women's 200-yard medley relay field on a total time of 1:49.61 while swimming a personal 25.90 split. The Kansas native then topped the women's 200-yard breaststroke standings by a whopping 12 seconds with a mark of 2:24.23 that leads the CCIW this season and is currently the ninth-fastest time in all of Division III women's swimming. The junior rounded out her day in the pool with a victory in the 200-yard IM thanks to a 2:08.41 time that is currently good for fifth-best in the country.

Boyer and her teammates will head to UW-Milwaukee on Friday afternoon for a 5 PM dual meet against the Division I program.
