Kalamazoo, Mich. – The Thunder volleyball team traveled to Kalamazoo College on Friday night for the first of three matches in Michigan this weekend. The Thunder defeated the Hornets, 3-1 as the Thunder picked up their eighth victory in nine matches. The Hornets won the first set 25-21 before the Thunder won the next three sets. The Thunder won the second set with a convincing 25-13 victory. Wheaton won the third set 25-22 and closed out the match with a 25-19 win in the fourth set.
Wheaton improves to 18-5 with tonight's win. The Thunder close out the trip to Michigan on Saturday with Matches against University of Mount Union and Calvin University at Cavin's Midwest Invitational. Tomorrow's trip to Grand Rapids will be the final match of four-consecutive road contests for the Thunder.
Ashton Major recorded a remarkable .750 attack percentage with 12 kills on 16 total attempts, and zero errors.
Jordan Benford also had 12 kills as she tied Major for the team's kills lead.

Sydney Overweg each tallied eight kills. while
Paris Griffin had seven kills.
Setter
Lacey Higgins tallied a match-high 26 assists, and
Reese Donahoe added 18. Benford had 20 digs and libero
Sarah Sanderson recorded 18 digs. Overweg had four total blocks, and Griffin had three. Sanderson and Higgins each reorded two service aces.
