Volleyball falls to Dubuque 3-1 at Wisconsin Lutheran Quad

GAME STATS Milwaukee, Wis. – The Wheaton volleyball team faced University of Dubuque on Friday night in the opening evening at the Wisconsin Lutheran Quad. Wheaton won the first set, and the Spartans rallied to win the next three sets as Dubuque defeated the Thunder 3-1. Wheaton won the first set 25-22. Dubuque won the second set 25-18, picked up a 25-23 win the third set and the Spartans closed out the match with another 25-23 win in the fourth set.

Caroline Capps led Wheaton with a team-high 12 kills in the matchup against Dubuque. Ashton Major tallied 11 kills with a .455 attack percentage. Emerson Traweek had nine kills, with eight for freshman Katherine Adkison, six kills by Syndey Overweg and five kills for Jordan Benford.

Lacey Higgins distributed 28 assists in the matchup against the Spartans. Adkison had four service aces on the evening. Grace Autry had a team-high 23 digs, and Adkison tallied 17. Overweg had four total blocks in the match.

The Thunder face the host Warriors of Wisconsin Lutheran College on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. Wheaton closes out its participation in the event on at noon on Saturday with a match against Monmouth College.
