Kenosha, Wis. – The Wheaton cross country teams traveled to Wisconsin on Saturday to compete at UW-Parkside's Lucian Rosa Invite hosted at Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course in Kenosha. The Wheaton women's cross country team finished fifth in a 14-team field, and the Wheaton men placed fifth out of 11 teams.
The four teams ahead of Wheaton in the women's team standings today were NCAA Division II teams. Winona State scored 35 points in first place, Hillsdale finished second with 62 points, UW-Parkside was third with 72 points, North Michigan also scored 72 points in fourth place and Wheaton rounded out the top-five with 135 points. North Central tallied 169 points in sixth place, Lake Superior State was seventh with 207 points, Purdue Northwest finished with 223 points in eighth place, Roosevelt placed ninth with 288 points and Judson was 10
th with 293 points.
Winona State's Sophia Taarud finished first with a time of 21:35.20 on the 6K course. She was followed by teammate McKenna Taylor's second-place time of 21:57.40, and UW-Parkside's Abbi Steiner in third place with an effort of 21:57.60.
Caroline Stetina had the top effort for the Thunder with a time of 23:23.80 in 19
th place.
Louisa Brorson finished 22
nd in 23:28.00, and teammate
Sophia Huber posted a time of 23:41.20 in 27

Natalie Conrad finished 45
th in 24:22.00 as she was ahead of
Lily Lebo's time of 24:32.10 in 52
nd place.
Sarah Quintanilla finished 57
th in 24:51.30, and junior
Laura Prothero posted a time of 25:08.70 in 64
th place.
The Thunder cross country teams are off until October 19 when the teams travel to Salem, Wisconsin to compete in UW-LaCrosse's "Jim Drews Invite".
